Wedding DJ Margaret River WA
Calm in the lead-up. Dance-floor on the night. South West winery weddings — Voyager to Leeuwin, the full Margaret River vintage.
Margaret River is the destination wedding region of Western Australia. International couples, Perth couples, eastern-states couples — they all converge on the same set of wineries because the wineries are genuinely that good. Voyager, Leeuwin, Xanadu, Wise — these are venues with their own wedding planners and their own preferred-vendor lists. A wedding DJ working Margaret River has to fit a higher bar than working Great Southern.
One hire, one face — DJ and MC. Margaret River weddings often have more vendors than guests by the time you count caterers, florists, planners, photographers. Bringing two separate audio vendors (DJ and MC) on top is overkill. Starma trained in both and runs the night as one voice — clean run-sheet, one briefing, no handover gaps.
A vintage-and-vineyard read, not a club read. Voyager’s Cape Dutch Manor doesn’t want big-room dance energy. Neither does Leeuwin’s Art Gallery, or the indoor-outdoor flow at Xanadu. The right tone is in the middle — and that middle is what Starma’s been doing for over three decades, across more than 800 weddings.
Honest about the travel. Tenterden base to Margaret River is about 4 hours. This is a real haul — one of the longer Starma-territory bookings. Quote includes travel and one night’s accommodation if needed, transparent up front. The trade-off: Great Southern DJ rates instead of the premium-bracket Perth-DJ-travels-to-Margaret-River pricing, which can run a couple of thousand more before you even start.

What other couples have said
“James was everything we could’ve wanted in a wedding DJ and so much more. Flexible, intuitive, made the entire night run seamlessly. He is the de-facto night coordinator — and the number one reason our wedding reception was such a huge success.”
— Shona
“James was a delight to work with and made our special day an absolute blast. Easy on the mic as an MC and incredibly talented as a DJ. He even mixed the most incredible first dance mix for us.”
— Fergus Downey
“We recently hired Starma as the DJ and MC for our wedding. He brought the good vibes and kept the dance floor pumping from the first dance to the last. The wedding day went so well, and it’s partly due to the love and dedication Starma shows in his work.”
— Emily Manoharan
